Feeling (Vedana) and Dependant Origination

I’ve got the question from Susan via Facebook. She asked me about these words of the Buddha. I’ve also answer this question on-air over Radio Thailand

For those of you who listen to the Sunday Dhamma Talk over the Radio Program FM 88, FM 95.5, FM 107 และ AM 918 (in Thailand). This post is tally with that explanation with more details on VDO attached.

The question from Susan were (rather the words from Buddha)

Without understanding the characteristic nature of our feeling of pleasant, not and neutral, we’ll never discover the nature of our mental attitudes, and without discovering that, we can never put an end to our emotional problems

There are 3 things need to explain first

  1. The Characteristic
  2. The Feeling (Pali – Vedana)
  3. The Concept of Dependent Origination

I’ve put each part into VDO with pencast you have to watch 3 parts together to understand the whole concept of feeling.

Feeling Part 1 (overview and the characteristic)

Feeling Part 2 (Dependent Origination)

Feeling Part 3 (Feeling)
